Abstract

This research aimed to analyze the effect of leadership and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) on talent retention at PT. Nipsea Paint and Chemical Co. Ltd. The research was descriptive-qualitative, which gave a systematic and accurate view of leadership and CSR programs on talent retention. Moreover, the instruments in the data collection technique were observation, depth-interview, and documentation. The main data informants were the HRD, warehouse, and production managers. The result showed that leadership had a significant effect in increasing talent retention at PT. Nipsea Paint and Chemical Co. Ltd. It meant that a supporting and effective leadership style increased work satisfaction, built trust, and created a positive work environment. Consequently, employees’ loyalty would be strengthened. Likewise, CSR programs had a significant effect on talent retention. In other words, participating employees in CSR activities would feel more connected to the companies, increase motivation to continue working, and reduce employees’ turnover. As a suggestion, the companies had to develop a sustainable leadership training program and widen CSR activities that were beneficial for society. Besides, involving more employees in the activities to increase their bond with the companies, which was finally increased loyalty and talent retention.
