Abstract


This research is meant to test the influence of job satisfaction to the performanceof the employees with
the organization commitment as the intervening variable. The first hypothesis is to test whether job
satisfaction has an influence the performance of the employees. The second hypothesis is to test
whether job satisfaction has an influence the organization commitment. The third hypothesis is to test
whether job satisfaction has an influence to theemployee performance with the organization
commitment as the intervening variable.The population is all employees ofPT Pharos Indonesia
Surabaya, in warehouse department,IT,quality control,accounting,marketing and Head of operational.
The samplesare 125 respondents and theyhave been selected by using simple random sampling
technique. The data of this research has been collected from the respondents and it has been analyzed
by using linear regressions, model feasibility test,coefficient determination,t-test and path analysis.The
result of this research shows that job satisfaction has direct influence to the performance of the
employees positively and significant.Job satisfaction has direct influence to the organisation
commitment positively and significant and organization committment has indirect influence between
job satisfaction and performance of the employees.It means that high committment which conforms
with job satisfaction will bring high organization performance at PT Pharos Indonesia Surabaya
