Abstract

This researchis aimed to find out the public perception to the use of online transportation in Surabaya (GO-JEK). The population in this researchare the consumers who have ever used the services of online transportation (GO-JEK). The sample collection technique has been done by using in-depth interviews in which the interviews has been conducted in-depth to the 10 informants with different ages and professions background. The analysis technique has been done by using descriptive qualitative method that is useful to provide facts and data. The result of the research shows that public perception to the use of online transportation (GO-JEK) give significant and positive influence.The public perception proves that it can affect the view of online transport. Due to online transport to serve the community, then from the performance and attributes of transportation can affect people's perceptions. Good or bad public perception of online transport depends on the quality of service itself. The success of a service in the field of services is supported by the performance of the drivers of online transportation while providing services to the community. The services provided to the public will greatly affect the perception of the community as a consumer whether it is bad perception or a good perception of online transport.
