Abstract

The food and beverage industry sector is one of the growing business sectors. Where food and beverage products are needed by consumers.This research aims to examine the influence of profitability, asset structure and business risk on capital structure. Sampling technique using purposive sampling. Based on the criteria that have been determined then obtained a sample of 11 food and beverage companies which is listed in the Indonesia Stock Exchange period 2014-2016. The analysis method that been used is multiple linear regression analysis. The results showed that profitability has a significant negative influence on the capital structure, meaning that the greater the company's profit, the company tends to use internal funding sources. The structure of assets has a positive not significant influence on capital structure. Business risks have a significant positive influence on capital structure. This means that a high level of risk will increase the company size capital structure, as some internal funds are used to finance the level of risk that occurs within the company. The company should pay more attention to the profitability generated by the company. The company should still pay attention to the condition of the company's asset structure, although the asset structure has no influence on the capital structure. The company should always pay attention to business risks, so that companies do not do harm so big business risk will not happen to the company.
