Abstract

This research examines the effect of audit committees in moderating the effect of profitability, liquidity, and capital structure on firm value. Profitability was measured by Return on Asset, liquidity was measured by Current Ratio, capital structure was measured by Debt to Equity Ratio, firm value was measured by Price to Book Value, and audit committees were due to companies’ quantity. The study applies quantitatively. The population consists of Food and Beverage manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). The data collection technique used purposive sampling, so that 30 companies were taken as samples. The data were gained for 3 years (2021-2023) with 90 data. However, there were 2 data outliers. Thus, the total samples were 88. Additionally, the data analysis technique used descriptive statistics, normality, classical assumption, determinant, proper model, moderation regression, and hypotheses tests. The result indicates that both profitability and capital structure have a positive effect on firm value. However, liquidity does not affect firm value. For the moderating effect of the audit committee, audit committees moderate positively the effect of profitability on firm value, moderate negatively the effect of capital structure on firm value and do not moderate the effect of liquidity on firm value.
