PENGARUH PROFITABILITAS DAN UKURAN PERUSAHAAN TERHADAP NILAI PERUSAHAAN

Abstract

This research aimed to examine the effect of profitability and firm size on firm value. The profitability was measured by Return On Asset (ROA), firm size was measured by Total Assets, and firm value was measured by Price to Book Value (PBV). The population was Food and Beverage companies that were listed on Indonesia Stock Exchange during 2018-2021. Moreover, the data were in form of annual financial statements, which were taken from the annual website of the Indonesia Stock Exchange. Furthermore, the data collection technique used purposive sampling with two criteria that had been decided. In line with that, there were 9 companies as the sample, with a total data of 36. Additionally, the research was correlational-quantitative. The data analysis technique used multiple linear regression. The result concluded that profitability had a positive effect on firm value. However, firm size did not affect firm value. It meant the higher the profitability was, the higher the firm value would be. Consequently, the investors would be interested in investing their money in the companies. On the other hand, companies with higher total assets did not guarantee to attract investors in investing their money.
