FAKTOR-FAKTOR YANG MEMPENGARUHI MAHASISWA AKUNTANSI DALAM MEMILIH KARIR MENJADI AKUNTAN PUBLIK

Abstract

This research aimed to determine which factors influence accounting students in choosing a career as a public accountant at the Indonesian high school of economics (STIESIA) Surabaya, also used as the research object. This research was conducted based on the number of public accountants which was getting smaller each year, while the growth of the number of companies was increasing. This research used a quantitative with sample collection technique used purposive sampling with determining criteria and used a questionnaire for as many as 180 students as the primary data collection instrument. Furthermore, the research data taken from 180 respondents was processed by factor analysis method through the instrument of SPSS. Moreover, the research object used the accounting students of School of Economic Indonesia (STIESIA) Surabaya. The research result showed that the factors who affected the accounting students at School of Economic Indonesia (STIESIA) Surabaya in choosing career as the public accountant was the work prospect, professionalism trainee, work market, work environment, and the last was financial rewards, based on the data processing result taken by SPSS.
