Abstract

Strategic planning is a guide for a company in determining the goals and targets to be achieved. Furthermore,
the company also needs internal control as an oversight in various company activities. Employee performance
will be better if they have strategic planning and good internal control to achieve vision, mission and purpose
which have been determined. This research aims to examine the influence of strategic planning and internal
control on employee performance in one of the clean water distribution company namely PDAM Surya Sembada
Surabaya. This type of research uses a quantitative approach. The population of this research are the employees of
PDAM Surya in Surabaya City on accounting, personnel and K3 section, as well as marketing and subscription
service. Data comes from the results of the questionnaire distribution directly. Questionnaire distributed to the
employees as much as 50 samples by using method of Proportionate Stratified Random Sampling. The data
analysis technique used is multiple linear regression analysis which calculated with using the help of SPSS 23.
The result of the research shows that strategic planning has positive and significant influence with t count value
3,854 with significance value 0,000 <0,05 and internal control have positive and significant influence with t
value equal to 4,093 with significance value 0,000 <0,05 so it can be concluded that planning strategies and
internal controls have a positive influence on the employee performance.
