Abstract

This research was aimed to observe the effect of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and firm size (Size) on the firm value with profitability as the moderated variable.This research used quantitative method. Meanwhile, the research population of this research used manufacturing companies in the sub-sector of base industry and chemicals listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) in the 2015-2019 periods. Moreover, the sample collection technique used purposive sampling based on the determined criteria and it obtained a sample of 20 companies. The analysis technique used hypothesis tests i.e. multiple linear regressions.Based on the research result, first, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) affected negatively on the firm value. Second, firm size had a positive effect on the firm value, it meant that the amount of the total assets which were owned by the company would increase the firm value. Third, profitability was able to moderated the effect of CSR on the firm value, it meant that the increasingfirm value. In addition, the fourth showed that probability did not moderate (weaken) the effect of firm value on the firm value.
