Abstract

This research aimed to find out the effect of public knowledge about riba and product knowledge on the interest of
using cashless through OVO applications. While, the population was Surabaya moslem citizen. Moreover, the
research was quantitative. Furthermore, the data collection technique used accidental sampling. In line with,
there were 100 respondents as sample. Meanwhile, the instrument in the data collection technique used
questionnaires. Additionally, the data analysis technique used multiple linear regression. The research result
concluded public knowledge about riba did not affect the interest of using cashless through OVO applications.
This was supported by some Moslem leaders' statement in which stated there was no riba in the application. As
a consequence, society would follow their leaders as there was no indication of riba in that kind of electronic
money (OVO) and considered as Wadi'ah. On the other hand, public knowledge about OVO product affected
on the interest of using cashless through OVO applications. This was supported by previous study which
concluded the higher knowledge of electronic money, the more interest of using OVO applications.
