Abstract

Corporate social responsibility is part of companies responsibilities which related to economy, social, and environment. In the past CSR was voluntary activities, but at present it becomes obligatory for company of making used of nature within its business activities. It happens as more companies are just focus on profit-oriented, without aware surroundings environment. This research aimed to examine and find out the empirical evidence of the effect of share ownership on the implementation of corporate social responsibility of manufacturing companies which were listed on Indonesia Stock Exchange 2013-2017. Moreover, the data collection technique used purposive sampling in which there were 70 samples from 14 companies. Futhermore, in data analysis technique, the instrument used SPSS version 24. In addition, there were two variables, dependent namely corporate social responsibility and independent variables namely managerial and institutonal ownership, public and foreign shares ownership. The research result concluded the managerial ownership had negative and significant effect on the implementation of CSR. Besides, the institutional and public shares ownership had also positive and significant effect on the implementation of CSR. On the other hand, the foreign shares ownership did not effect on the implementation of CSR.
