Abstract

Share return is the level of profit which investors have for their investment. Therefore, both short and long term investment has its main goal of earning profit. This research aimed to find out the effect of profitability, leverage and market value on the share return. While, all variables were measured by return on equity (ROE), debt to equity (DER) and earning per share (EPS). The population was property and real estate companies which were listed Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) 2013-2017. Moreover, the data collection technique used purposive sampling. In line with, there were 29 property and real estate companies as sample. Furthermore, the data analysis technique used multiple linear regression with SPSS 25. The research result concluded the profitability had positive effect on the shares return. It meant, the higher profitability would reflect the higher share return of company. On the other hand, leverage had negative effect on the share return. In other words, the higher level of leverage would reflect the higher debt of company. Similar to profitability, market value had positive effect on the share return. In other words, the higher market value would reflect the higher shares return of company.
